PokerRoom began offering play money poker games in 1999 and transferred to real hosting money games in 2001, although it still has plenty of play money tables for beginners.The PokerRoom software is a different from most in that it comes in both a download version for Windows as well as a no-download Java version that works with computers running Mac, Unix, and Windows.It is the only online poker room to support Mac. Most of the poker tournaments are limit and no limit Texas Hold 'em with some less frequent Omaha and 7 Card Stud tournaments. PokerRoom deposit options include MasterCard, Visa, Switch, Solo, Neteller, FirePay, PrePaid ATM, Visa, Delta, and Moneybookers. PokerRoom uses a Player Point system. In a feature that distinguishes Poker Room from other sites, players earn poker points or casino points based on their play that can then be redeemed for things such as freeroll tournaments.PokerRoom also gives cash prizes to the players accumulating the most points for the day.
