Party Poker is currently the runaway market leader, recently floating on the London Stock Exchange. The float will be the largest the exchange has seen in nearly four years. Party Gaming, the owners, will float about 23 per cent of the company, leaving 77 per cent in the hands of the founders and original stockholders. The valuation of the float is estimated to be somewhere near $1.8bn, leaving the full valuation of the company at just under $8bn. Party Poker has been growing rapidly since its opening in 2001, and is associated with poker professional Mike Sexton.
