Ladbrokes Poker Ladbrokes Poker is one of the busiest European poker rooms. However, US citizens are not allowed to play. Ladbrokes is an established leading UK sports book and one of the biggest bookmakers in the country. The site boasts high traffic in the ring games, peaking in the evening in Europe.
There is a selection of good high-limit tables, particularly in the pot and no-limit games. There are some very aggressive games to be found here ands the standard of play is high. The software used is from the Prima Poker network and at times has a limited playability. There are around 1600-1900 real money ring game players and 3000-3500 tournament players at peak hours. The biggest let down on this site, the lock out on US players aside, is the software. The software is a stand-alone version of the Prima Poker Network by game developers Microgaming, and is extremely basic. Hand history is available by HTML page and via email. One nice feature is the possibility to see all actions in the chat area to the right - who raised and called and for which amounts in the previous betting rounds and previous hands. In sum, the software is less good than at other leading poker room. Ladbrokes Poker has the standard games - Texas Hold ‘em, Omaha and Seven-card stud - except the seven-card stud Hi-Lo version, which is currently unavailable. There is also a five-card stud game. The volume in the pot and no-limit Texas Hold ‘em is good, in particular at the higher stakes. There are quite a few Omaha games, despite the game being more popular with US players. There are many short-handed tables with a maximum of five or six players. The rake is less than the average - the pot and no-limit is raked at every $5, which is good. However, the lower straight limit games (up to $1/$2) are capped at $1.50, compared to $1 at most other sites. The tournaments fees from $5 to $1000, have charges from 20 per cent (with $1 charge for the $5 fee) to less than 10 per cent for the $100 and above fees. Ladbrokes offers some of the loosest ring games available, with view flop percentages most often in the 40s, 50s and even the 70s. However, the quality of the players is quite good, with a few aggressive players. The support could still improve, but there is daytime telephone support and e-mail support in case things go wrong. Deposit options include VISA, MasterCard, Western Union, UK debit cards (Delta, Switch, Solo), wire transfer, bank draft, money order, cashier's check, personal cheque. Cash out options include Full payout with VISA, MasterCard, UK debit cards, cheque, international wire. Ladbrokes also offer full credit card payout. |
